On Dec. 16 during the 11 a.m. service the Adult program “Hope Has Hands” will be seen. Their cantata is always filled with beautiful singing and the wonderful story of how Jesus was born for us.

On Dec. 23 we will observe the Lord’s Supper at 11 a.m. and a candlelight service will be that evening at 6 p.m.

Dates to remember: Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. annual Christmas Dinner Senior Adults; Dec. 14-16 – Mission trip to Boone, N.C.; Dec. 29-31 – Winter Xtreme for youth in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Sunday, Dec. 9, the services consisted of Jonathan and Rebecca McNiel speaking to the church about their mission work in Poland. Following the morning message, the church commissioned them prior to their return to Poland.

Concluding the message and commissioning, Jackson Kirkpatrick was baptized. He is the son of Kevin and Tiffany Kirkpatrick and the great grandson of Dewilla Holtzclaw.

Max Lucado said, “Jesus humbled Himself. He went from commanding angels to sleeping in the straw. From holding stars to clutching Mary’s fingers. The palm that held the universe took the nail of a soldier. WHY??? Because that’s what love does.”

Thought for the week: “Every season brings its own special beauty…and every Christmas brings a reminder of the Great Gift we’ve been given.”
