Space Night at the Library

The Lincoln County Public Library will host Space Night at the library tonight (Thursday, Nov. 29). Stop by between 5 and 7 p.m. Join us for crafts and activities that are out of this world! Lincoln County Middle School students will put your astronaut skills to the test. Fun for all ages! This program is free and open to the public. Christmas at Logan’s Fort

Join us for Christmas Open House at Logan’s Fort from 2 to 4 on Saturday, December 1. The Fort will be decorated for Christmas with costumed interpreters in each cabin, primitive ornaments made by local children, and music by the Danville Dulcimers. Hot cider and cookies will be served.

Make your own bicycle ornament

Bicycle Christmas Ornaments workshop will be held Monday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at Lincoln County Public Library. Participants will use various techniques to make a bicycle themed Christmas ornament. Make one for yourself and one to decorate the tree for the Bicycle History program on Dec. 6. Call (606) 365-7513 to register.

History of the Bicycle

First Taste of Freedom: History of the Bicycle will be held Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. Crab Orchard native, Dr. Robert Turpin will be sharing research from his recently published history of the bicycle. In this talk he will examine promotion and usage of the bicycle in the United States from the 1880s to the 1950s. This discussion will center on how the bicycle could serve as a tool to affirm masculinity, liberate women, and foster childhood independence – depending on the place and moment in time. Wilderness Trace meeting

Wilderness Trace Chapter of Kentuckians for the Commonwealth will meet Monday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at Boyle County Public Library, in the Mahan Gallery, 307 West Broadway St., Danville (entrance is on the left side of the building). We will be doing some strategic planning related to our upcoming work.

Breakfast with Santa

Breakfast and shopping with Santa will be Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lincoln County Extension Office. Shop from local vendors and crafters. The $5 breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, drink and photo with Santa. For more information, call (606) 365-2447.

The Lincoln County Public Library will host Christmas Tree Workshop on Thursday, Dec. 13. Stop by between 4 and 7 p.m. Bring the whole family to make a yummy ice cream cone Christmas tree. Bringing in the Christmas Season

The Stanford Lions Club will once again kick off the Christmas season with an evening of Christmas music and a Food Drive on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, one mile south of Lincoln County High School on Hwy 27 South.

Admission is a non-perishable food item. All food collected will be divided between Fort Logan Ministries and Grace Fellowship.

Photos with Santa

The Lincoln County Public Library will host Photos With Santa on Saturday, Dec. 15. Stop by the library between 10 a.m. and noon. Kids will see Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. Make sure to bring your camera to capture this moment, or the library will take a photo upon request. Kids will be able to make holiday crafts while they wait to see Santa. Chili Supper

A chili supper, to benefit the Lincoln County SPCA, will be held Friday, Dec. 7 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the American Legion Post, 909 East Main Street. Cost is $5 per person and the meal will include chili, sandwich, drink and dessert or two chili dogs, chips, drink and dessert.

Estate/Trust planning seminar

An Estate and Trust Planning Seminar will be held Thursday, Dec. 6 at noon at First Southern National Bank Community Room in the Public Square, Lancaster. Special guest will be Attorney Josh Beam, with Hargrove Traughber, LLP in Lexington, the largest estate and trust practice in the Midwest. Estate planning is for everyone. Lincoln County SPCA Group

As a new group, the Lincoln County SPCA’s immediate GOAL is to protect shelter animals by expanding foster, rescue and adoption programs. Our immediate NEEDS are volunteers, fosters and more donations of supplies to support them. Public meetings will be held at the Lincoln County Public Library, second floor, room 2 on Saturday, Dec. 1 from noon to 2 p.m. Please join our Facebook group. Crab Orchard Community Garden

A Crab Orchard Community Garden, sponsored by the Lincoln County 4-H, is free to residents and children. Grow food and share with your neighbors. Supplies provided. Meet at the city park in Crab Orchard the first Friday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. For more information, call (606) 365-2447.
