Annual Fall Chili Supper

The Butchertown Community Center will hold its annual fall chili supper on Saturday, Nov. 3 starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be chili, hot dogs, sandwiches and homemade desserts. There will also be an auction. All proceeds go to the Community Center.

Health Department closing early

The Lincoln County Health Department will be closing at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31 for a staff meeting and at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 to allow employees time to vote.

Imagination Station Costume Party

Imagination Station Costume Party will be held Friday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to noon (last admission at 11:30 a.m.). Free fun activities for children ages 2 to 5. Wear your favorite costume (optional) and come to the Lincoln County Public Library. All kids will receive a goody bag and a free book! For more information, call the library at (606) 365-7513.

Esther’s Wellhouse Open House

An open house will be held at Esther’s Wellhouse, 102 Depot Street in downtown Stanford on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. Guests are invited to tour the facility, taste selections from the spa menu catered by Cerulean, book appointments, purchase gift cards, and enter for a chance to win exciting giveaways.

Farm Bureau taking fruit and nut orders

Lincoln County Farm Bureau is once again offering fruits and nuts for sale to their Farm Bureau members. Order forms are available at the Farm Bureau offices in Stanford and Moreland. Orders will be accepted through November 2.

Jelly Roll Rug Classes

Jelly Roll Rug classes, taught by Rita Stewart, Lincoln County Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agent at the extension office include: Introduction Class October 31, 9:30 a.m. to noon; second class – November 6, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; third class – November 26, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Call (606) 365-2447 for a supply list and to register.

Trick or Treat times set

•Hustonville trick or treating will be Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.

•County and city wide trick or treat is Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Community Trick or Treat at the Stanford Baptist Christian Life Center will run at the same time. If your group or business would like to set up at the CLC, call (606) 365-2178 to reserve your spot.

Mary Todd, a new American Musical

Mary Todd, a new American musical, in honor of Mary Todd Lincoln’s 200th birthday, will be shown on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library. This is free and open to the public.

Hobblin’ Gobblin 5K Run/Walk

There will be a Hobblin’ Goblin 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2:30 p.m. at Millennium Park in Danville. This 5K is for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Polly Ann Ridge Reunion

The eighth annual Polly Ann Ridge Reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 starting at 11 a.m. to whenever. The reunion will be held at the Eubank Senior Citizens Center located on Hwy. 70 in Eubank. Snowflake Baby 5K Race

Snowflake Baby 5K Race (Oney Adoption, #embryoadoption) will be held Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. on Main Street in Stanford. Registration is 10-10:45 a.m. Participants must pre-register to receive shirt on race day. Cost is $35 for run and shirt and $20 for run only if you pre-register. Crab Orchard Community Garden

A Crab Orchard Community Garden, sponsored by the Lincoln County 4-H, is free to residents and children. Grow food and share with your neighbors. Supplies provided. Meet at the city park in Crab Orchard the first Friday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. For more information, call (606) 365-2447.

Grief Support Group to meet

Join a Girls Who Code Club

Girls Who Code Clubs are meant for girls to join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models and use Computer Science to change the world. Girls in the 3rd-5th Grade Clubs will read together from a book, discuss questions and important concepts and then take on a creative challenge that relates to what they read. Girls in 6th-12th Grade Clubs will learn how to code from fun online tutorials and activities that will help them build animations, games, apps and other things. They will have tutorials in Scratch, Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript and in a block-based development language call Thunkable.
