A 35-year-old woman found dead in a car in a driveway in McKinney two weeks ago died of a drug overdose, the Kentucky State Police said.

The body of Jessica N. Lynne of Casey County was found in a car on Clark Street in McKinney on Oct. 10 and, since the manner of death was questionable, an autopsy was ordered.

“I think she may have died the day before we were notified,” KSP Trooper Robert Purdy said. “Obviously, they wanted to look into it and find out what happened. As a result of the autopsy, looks like death was the result of an overdose.”

According to Purdy, the body had apparently been placed in the car and driven to Clark Street and that led to charges being filed.

“Somebody was charged,” he said. “I think they found her or were with her whenever she overdosed, and moved the body. They didn’t know exactly what to do.”

Ray Johnson of McKinney was charged in the case, but was not charged with causing the death.

“He was charged with tampering with physical evidence, abuse of a corpse since they moved the body and failure to notify death of another person,” Purdy said. “That’s where those came from but nothing suspicious as far as the cause of her death.”
