Esther’s Wellhouse Open House

Esther’s Wellhouse, 102 Depot Street is holding an open house on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. Guests are invited to tour the facility, taste selections from the spa menu catered by Cerulean, book appointments, purchase gift cards, and enter for a chance to win exciting giveaways.

Farm Bureau taking fruit and nut orders

Lincoln County Farm Bureau is once again offering fruits and nuts for sale to their Farm Bureau members. Order forms are available at the Farm Bureau offices in Stanford and Moreland. Orders will be accepted through November 2.

Venison Canning Class

A Venison Canning Class (Demo Only) will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. at the Lincoln County Extension Office. Home canning your own venison can help you save money, gain control over what’s in your food, and save time in meal preparation. Jelly Roll Rug Classes

Jelly Roll Rug classes, taught by Rita Stewart, Lincoln County Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agent at the extension office include: Introduction Class October 31, 9:30 a.m. to noon; second class – November 6, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; third class – November 26, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Call (606) 365-2447 for a supply list and to register.

Mary Todd, a new American Musical

Mary Todd, a new American musical, in honor of Mary Todd Lincoln’s 200th birthday, will be shown on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library. This is free and open to the public.

Snowflake Baby 5K Race

Snowflake Baby 5K Race (Oney Adoption, #embryoadoption) will be held Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. on Main Street in Stanford. Registration is 10-10:45 a.m. Participants must pre-register to receive a shirt on race day. Cost is $35 for run and shirt and $20 for run only if you pre-register. Stanford Cruise-In

The Stanford Cruise-In will be held Friday, October 19 from 5 – 8:30 p.m., on Main Street in Stanford. This is hosted by the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #60, Blue Knights of KY XI and the Fort Logan F.O.P. Music by Charlie Napier, “D.J. to the Cars”!

Polly Ann Ridge Reunion

The eighth annual Polly Ann Ridge Reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 starting at 11 a.m. to whenever. The reunion will be held at the Eubank Senior Citizens Center located on Hwy. 70 in Eubank. All former and current residents of Polly Ann Ridge are invited. Bring food, drinks, photo, etc.

Community Needs Assessment Meeting

There will be a public meeting held to discuss the needs of the Community and Low Income citizens in Lincoln County. The meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant, 119 Metker Trail. Blood drive

Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) is encouraging Kentuckians to roll up their sleeves, donate blood and help Kentucky patients. The next blood drive will be held Monday, Oct. 29 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Crab Orchard Elementary School, 137 Lancaster Street. Blood donors must be 17-years-old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Stanford Lions Club Candy Days

Stanford Lions Club is hosting Candy Days on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Durham’s Grocery and Save-A-Lot. Lions Club members will be passing out candy. Donations will be appreciated. Proceeds will be used with the Kids Sight Program.

Trick or Treat times set

•Hustonville trick or treating will be Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m.

•County and city wide trick or treat is Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Community Trick or Treat at the Stanford Baptist Christian Life Center will run at the same time. If your group or business would like to set up at the CLC, call (606) 365-2178 to reserve your spot.

Chill’s 5K run/walk to be held Oct. 21

The FOP Fort Logan Lodge #84 Chills 5K run/walk, held in memory of Captain T.J. and Cindy Hill, will be Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. in downtown Stanford.

Hobblin’ Gobblin 5K Run/Walk

There will be a Hobblin’ Goblin 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2:30 p.m. at Millennium Park in Danville. This 5K is for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Stanford City Wide Fall Clean Up

The annual City of Stanford city-wide fall cleanup continues through October 19. All items for pickup are to be placed at the curb. Items exempt from pickup are: tires, batteries, paint cans and all hazardous chemicals. Tree limbs no longer than six feet in length, tied in bundles and placed by the curb will also be picked up. Farm Bureau Women’s Educational Grant

An educational grant of $1,500 is awarded annually to a female non-traditional student interested in resuming her education. Applicant must be a member of Kentucky Farm Bureau for at least one year prior to applying for this award and a high school graduate (GED is acceptable). Applications must be postmarked by October 19.
