Continued work for all kids ages kindergarten through sixth grade for their Christmas musical each Sunday during worship service. The name of their musical is “The Secret of Snowflake County.”

Continued work for the adult choir working on their Christmas musical each Sunday evening at 6 p.m.

The Common Bond Quartet will be singing at the Lincoln County Community Center at Kings Mountain Corner Sunday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Madison Cornett, who is a sophomore at MSU, sang a special prior to the message Sunday, Sept. 23. “I will call upon Your Name. When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace for I am Yours, and You are mine.” Beautiful, reassuring words.

First Thessalonians 1:4 was the text for Sunday’s message; “Loved and Chosen by God” was the title of Bro. Kyle’s message. As interest and churches sprang up during Paul and Silas’ preaching, concerned government officials became hostile to these two men. Fearing their influence, they forced these two men to leave Thessalonica. They went to other cities and finally arrived in Corinth where Paul wrote letters to the church in Thessalonica to let them know he had not forgotten them.

Doctrine is a summary of a core teaching from the Bible and is extremely important to churches and the foundations on which they are based. The Trinity, Atonement, and Hope of a second coming of Christ are a few of these doctrinal issues.

Another point of doctrinal importance is that of election. There have been many controversies for many years over this subject. This theme of election is encouraging to us for three reasons: Its start, which began before the creation of the world, is when God invites us to find our purpose in Him. Its application to us is how we experience it. Few would seek God if He did not do it first; He seeks us; He loves us just because He loves us. Election is by God’s grace and not by our works. In its results is the last point. We are a part of God’s family because we accept His free gift – Jesus’ blood sacrifice. Our being a part of God’s family will never change. To adopt is intentional. That is what God did; He planned our adoption into His family.
