Brenda Sue Denny, 69, of Broughtontown, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, at her home.

Brenda was born in Stanford on September 7, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Paris and Sally Hazel (Wallin) Burke. Brenda was the wife of Ray Denny whom she married on December 21, 1968. She had worked as a secretary at the Crab Orchard Elementary School. Brenda was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Ray Denny; son, Andrew Denny and wife Johnetta; daughters, Sarah and husband Kevin Carrier, and Amy and husband Josh Brown; brother, Paris Burke and wife Liz; sisters, Shirley and husband Terry Weber, Diane and husband Wayne Edwards, and Robin Jackson Burke; and four grandchildren, Madison Nichole Denny, Peyton MacKenzie Denny, Caleb Tilden Edwards and Huson Kain Brown.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 11, at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Burial was in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Visitation was Monday at McKnight Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Chris and Mathew Cope, Ken and Cody Hall, Terry Weber and Michael Edwards.
