The South District Women’s Retreat held on August 25 at First Baptist Church, Lebanon was a great success. Approximately 90 women participated, representing each church in the district. The keynote speaker was Mayor Anne Sleet, First Baptist Perryville, the facilitators were Mrs. Marlena Brown, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Boone’s Creek, Miss Margaret Newby, First Baptist Church, Springfield and Mrs. Cammie Coulter, Bonevyille Baptist Church and also the president of the South District Missionary Society. Mrs. Theresa Calhoun was the coordinator along with all of the women that helped to make the day a success and – to God be the Glory. The theme was Relax, Relate and Release.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Dr. William Adams, the son of the late Dr. William and Cora Adams, the owners of the Adams Funeral Home. He is also the uncle of Yolonda and Earl Kelsor.

Thought for the week: The key to success is faith and courage. The key to failure is trying to please everyone else.
