WELCOME TO ANOTHER GREAT START OF SCHOOL –

Dear Lincoln County Family,

As another school year has started, our students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in education, one of the most important human endeavors. Children have another year to acquire more knowledge, develop their minds and build on their character. Even though it’s hard to believe the summer vacation is over, the start of school should be seen as an opportunity to start afresh — the way we consider spring the season of rebirth, growth and optimism. Welcome back to a new school year.

The Lincoln County Schools is excited to start a new school year with you. We are very pleased that our district has a well-earned reputation in the community to its commitment of fostering academic excellence while consistently focusing on creating positive social relationships. At Lincoln County Schools, we are working together in creating a child-centered learning community that involves each and every adult who interacts within a child’s life. Acting as our students’ advocates is a part we all play to ensure they reach their fullest potential. The greatest gift that we can bestow upon the children is to create an outstanding school atmosphere which will leave an enduring impression on their educational lives. It is from their first experiences of school that we will work together to foster a love of learning and the ability to build long-lasting social relationships. On their paths to becoming lifelong learners, we will provide them with a remarkable series of experiences, so, that they too, can see just how important a role the adults in their lives play. The skills that our children learn at the Lincoln County Schools will lead to future success.

As you visit the district, you will notice many positive changes. Mrs. Dreama Tomlison has moved from principal at Crab Orchard Elementary and transitioned into her new role as the district Chief Academic Officer. Mr. Justin Abbott was hired by the Crab Orchard Elementary School SBDM Council to replace her as principal. Mr. James Carrier has moved from Highland Elementary School after accepting the principal position at Stanford Elementary School. The Highland SBDM Council hired Mrs. Suzanne Montgomery to replace him as principal. We are also proud to introduce Mr. Tim Estes as our new District Athletic Director.

In closing, we look forward to working with you to create the best educational experience for your child/children. We believe students reach their potential when parents, teachers, students, and administrators work together. The staff of Lincoln County Schools looks forward to another year of providing an outstanding education for your child/children. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or comments, please contact us at the Student Support Center (606) 365-2124.
Together we can provide the education your child rightfully deserves.

Respectfully,

MICHAEL ROWE
