Soccer Pats off to 3-0 start

The Lincoln County High School boys soccer team is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2012 after beating host Sayre 3-1 Tuesday night in Lexington.

Austin Price and Hawk Randall scored a goal apiece in the win and the third goal of the game came on an own goal (a goal scored by the opposing team).

Trey Cummins and Austin Wethington had the assists on the Price and Randall goals.

Carter Tillett was in goal for the soccer Patriots in the win.

Sayre dropped to 2-2 in the loss.

The Sayre victory came on the heels of another 3-1 win.

Lincoln notched the first 3-1 win last Thursday in its home opener as the soccer Patriots downed visiting Lexington Christian.

Cummins, Price and Wethington tallied for Lincoln in the win and Randall came away with an assist.

Andrew Dobbs had the lone goal for Lexington Christian (1-1), scoring off a Gavin Howard assist.

Erik Burroughs played goalkeeper for the Eagles and Tillett was in goal for the Pats.

The soccer Pats will be back in action tonight at home as Lincoln hosts Garrard County in a girl/boy doubleheader. The Lady Patriot varsity plays at 6 p.m. and the Patriots play at approximately 7:30 p.m.
