The annual homecoming and basket dinner will be held at First Baptist Church, Crab Orchard on Sunday, August 19. The 3 p.m. guests will be Rev. Lawrence Gassett and congregation of First Baptist Church, Davistown. Elder Oliver Miller, Jr., pastor.

The annual homecoming and basket dinner will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church, Stanford on Sunday, Aug. 26. Elder Robert Coulter, Jr., and congregation of Boneyville Baptist Church will be the 3 p.m. guests. Rev. Floyd Raglin, pastor.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Mr. Oliver “Butch” Smith. The funeral will be held in Lexington at the Fender Funeral Home on Saturday, at 1593 Russell Cave Road. The visitation will be at 11 a.m. and the funeral will be at 1 p.m.

Sympathy is also extended to the family of Mr. James M. Daugherty of Danville. He was affiliated with the Smith-Jackson Funeral Home. The funeral was held on Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Danville at 11 a.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Hocker and Ms. Shirell Hocker and daughter have returned home after vacationing in Los Angeles, California.
Mrs. Irene Gooch, Miss Marie Gooch, Ms. Diana Gooch and sons, Mrs. Linda Goodloe and Mr. Daniel Gooch spent the weekend in Atlanta, Ga., visiting Mrs. Irene Gooch’s daughter, Mrs. Christina McClellen and granddaughter, Miss Kayla McClellen.

Mrs. Louise Brown, Ms. Barthenia Brown, Mrs. Sara Givens and Bryson Stevenson recently spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Kelvin Givens and family of Cincinnati, Ohio. They also visited Miss Deidre Martin, Mrs. Elizabeth Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Mitchell.

Ms. Trish Berry of Louisville visited Mrs. Anna Napier in celebration of Mrs. Napier’s birthday, along with other family members.

Let’s remember the sick and shut-ins in our prayers, those that are in the “rest homes”, hospitals and any other confinements.
