Pleasant Point Baptist AWANA

Pleasant Point Baptist Church invites area children to join its AWANA Program scheduled to start on Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be classes for Pre-K through 12th grade. AWANA includes Bible stories, scripture memorization, games and food. For more information, call April Bates at (606) 305-0644. The church is located at 2490 Hwy. 501 in Waynesburg. Pleasant Point also invites the community to meet their new pastor, Steven and April Bates and their three children.

Allen Chapel A.M.E. Basket Meeting cancelled

The annual homecoming at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Moreland, commonly referred to as the Basket Meeting, has been cancelled. The event, which had been scheduled for Aug. 12, had to be cancelled due to the extensive damage caused by the late June flood. The members of Allen Chapel are working with a general contractor to repair the damage.

The Allen Chapel members would like to thank all of the Christian brethren and sister congregations that have responded with monetary donations. Please continue to pray for this church as decisions are made during this difficult time.
