Some good news for a change

Dear Editor,

Every time I turn on the TV to watch the news, all we hear is that someone had been shot, stabbed or hurt in some terrible way. All bad news, and I get discouraged about how things just keep getting worse.

I want to share some good news that I witnessed last Thursday. A friend of mine had a flat tire on her car in a parking lot in Danville. Mr. Earl Setters and his grandson, Derrick Glaze, both of Danville, immediately stopped and offered their assistance. Next, Ellie Camenisch of Stanford stopped and helped. Mr. Jeff Jenkins of Casey County finished changing the tire.

It was 90-plus degrees at this time and It would have been so easy for these people to stay in their vehicles where it was cool, but they did not. They all stood out in the terrible heat until the job was finished. Not one of these people would take a dime of money for their help. They all said to help someone else some day.

I felt blessed that I witnessed these four strangers from three different counties helping someone that they had never met. These people were an inspiration to me.
