The track at the University of Kentucky Shively Track and Field Complex is flooded after the first round of thunderstorms made its way through Lexington and the Class 2A state championships.

The flooded lanes made it look more like athletes should swim rather than run in the competition.

This break in the rains did not last and the next round forced the cancellation of events until the following day. The delay affected over 1,100 athletes, including several from Lincoln County.
