LCHS Class of 1983 to hold reunion
The Lincoln County High School Class of 1983 will hold its 35th reunion on Saturday, June 30 at the Cedar Creek Sportsman Club. The evening will have catered food, music and games. Please RSVP by June 1. $10 per person. Mail fee to LCHS Class 1983, PO Box 475, Stanford, KY 40484.

National Nurses Week
The Nightingale Chapter of the Kentucky Nurses Association invites Lincoln County nurses to celebrate National Nurses Week May 6 -12 on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, McDowell Room, 217 South Third Street in Danville. Cool Cars Crushing Cancer Car Show
Cool Cars Crushing Cancer Car Show will be held Saturday, May 12 at First Southern Veterans Park in Stanford, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Registration is 10-11:30 a.m. $20 entry fee (make checks payable to American Cancer Society). Judging starts at 11:30 a.m. Trophy presentation will be from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Event also includes door prizes, 50/50 raffle, silent auction items, concessions, face painting and something new – Hot Wheels Timed Trials. Bring your fastest Hot Wheels car. $2 entry fee for each Hot Wheel and Timed Trial. Two divisions – youth and adults. Former UK basketball player, Cameron Mills will pick his favorite car or truck. He will present The Cameron Mills Top Choice Trophy to the winner. Event hosted by Sims Survivors Relay For Life Team. For more information, contact Mark Williams at (606) 669-1143. Democratic Woman’s Club to meet
The Democratic Woman’s Club will meet Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m. at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant. The meeting will focus on support for upcoming elections. All women are welcome.

Stanford City Council meeting cancelled
The Stanford City Council regularly scheduled meeting for tonight (Thursday, May 3) has been cancelled. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the council will not have a quorum available for the meeting.

Crab Orchard Spring Cleanup Days
The City of Crab Orchard will have Spring Clean-Up Days for residents within city limits. Limit one load per customer. Cleanup days are Monday and Tuesday, May 7 and 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Two dumpsters will be located behind City Hall and all items with the exception of tires, appliances, batteries, paint cans, hazardous waste products, or dead animals will be accepted.
Spring City Wide Yard Sale
The City of Crab Orchard will have its annual Spring City Wide Yard Sale on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, May 3, 4 and 5. No Yard Sale permits will be required for these days.

Butchertown supper and auction
Butchertown Community Center will hold a chicken or ham supper and auction on Saturday, May 5 at 6 p.m. Adult meal will be $6, children’s meal is $4. Meal consists of chicken or ham, baked beans, potato salad or slaw, roll, dessert and drink. All proceeds will benefit the community center.

Fish fry in Moreland
The Moreland Fire Department will hold a fish fry on Saturday, May 5 from five to nine p.m. Cost will be $8 for all you can eat.

Blood drive
Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) is encouraging Kentuckians to roll up their sleeves, donate blood and help Kentucky patients. Those who register to give blood at the drive will receive a fun “Donate blood, y’all” purple T-shirt. The blood drive will be held Thursday, May 17 from 1 to 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the Stanford Presbyterian Church, 213 East Main in Stanford. Blood donors must be 17-years- old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. AARP Smart Driver Course
Take the new AARP Smart Driver Course and save money on your car insurance. The course will be held Tuesday, May 15, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Garrard County Farm Bureau Office sponsored by Lincoln County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Garrard County Farm Bureau. The cost of the course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members ($5 discount for Lincoln County Farm Bureau members).

Waynesburg Elementary to hold spring carnival
Waynesburg Elementary Spring Carnival will be held Friday, May 18 from 6-8 p.m. at Waynesburg Elementary School.  There will be food, fun, games, and an auction.

SBDM Council meetings
•Waynesburg SBDM Council: May 17. All meetings will be held at 4 p.m. in the school library.
•Hustonville SBDM Council: May 17 at 4:30 p.m.
•Highland SBDM Council: May 16 and June 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the school library.

Countdown to the Siege
The third annual reenactment of the Siege of 1777 at Logan’s Fort will be held May 18-20. Admission is $5, free to children 12 and under. More information on Facebook at third annual siege of Logan’s Station.
