Dive team helps pull truck out of Cedar Creek Lake

CRAB ORCHARD — Lincoln County’s dive team was called to Cedar Creek Lake Sunday after a truck ended up in the water.

It was about 4:15 p.m. Sunday when law enforcement was dispatched to Dock No. 2 at Cedar Creek Lake to respond to reports of a gray Ford Ranger pickup truck sinking in the water.

By 4:33 p.m., the truck was completely under water.

Jason Kilby, with the Lincoln County Search and Rescue Dive Team, said the water was about 58 degrees Sunday. Stanford Fire Department’s Special Operations Marine 1 boat was launched to assist in retrieving the vehicle.

Divers used an underwater camera to locate the submerged truck and hook it to a tow truck.

According to Lincoln County Emergency Management, the truck came out of park while the driver was launching a boat.

No injuries were reported.

Responders included the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County SAR Dive Team, Crab Orchard Fire Department, Stanford Fire Department Special Operations, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Kentucky Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and Lincoln County Emergency Management.

Responders were on scene until approximately 9:22 p.m. Sunday.
