Lincoln County continues to put in strong efforts in track and field competition, adding 15 more Top 5 finishes Tuesday in the Danville All-Comers Meet at Admiral Stadium.

The Lady Patriots posted the most Top 5 finishes with 10 in nine different events. The Patriots’ five Top 5 finishes were earned in four different events.

Freshman runner Lucy Singleton and the girls 400-meter and 800-meter relay teams all posted the day’s high finish – second place.

Singleton claimed her runner-up finish in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:04.90. Singleton, Constance Johnson, Courtney Snow and Maddy Slone racked up the runner-up finishes in both the 400 and 800 relays, posting times of 57.31 seconds and 1:58.65.

Lincoln scored two Top 5 finishes in the 1600, with McKenzie Settles finishing right behind Singleton in third in the race with a time of 6:14.03.

The Lincoln boys also scored two Top 5 finishes in a single event. Sophomore Gabe Singleton claimed the Patriots’ high finish by placing second in the long jump field event. He jumped 18-07.00 feet. Singleton’s teammate Nick Harris also made Top 5 in the event by capturing fifth place with a jump of 17-05.00.

Other Lady Patriots placing in the Top 5 at the Danville meet were: Courtney Snow – 2nd, 200-meter dash, 29.76 seconds; Settles – 4th, 400-meter dash, 1:06.49; Constance Johnson – 4th, 300-meter hurdles, 1:02.81; Emma Kaiser – 3rd, high jump, 4-00.00; Abigail Carter – 5th, shot put, 25-03.50; and 3200-meter relay team (Ava Morgan, Singleton, Settles, Johnson) – 3rd, 11:20.60.

The other Patriots making Top 5 were: Austin Wethington – 5th, 200-meter dash, 25.83 seconds; Sam Singleton – 5th, 1600-meter run, 5:40.24; and David Brock – 4th, long jump, 33-08.50.
