WAYNESBURG — A woman was arrested Sunday night for driving under the influence after her car left the roadway and flipped, landing on its roof.

It was about 6:30 p.m. Sunday when deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Cemetery Road, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Mullins.

Lilly Jean Kidd, 53, was identified as the driver and only occupant of the vehicle.

“We get there and she’s out of the vehicle (and had) a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her person,” Mullins said. “(She) was obviously under the influence.”

Mullins said Kidd allegedly admitted to drinking several beers, as well as vodka, prior to the wreck.

“The vehicle went off the roadway and flipped end-over-end and landed on it’s top,” he said. “She wasn’t hurt but we took her to the hospital and cleared her, gave her a blood test.”

Kidd was lodged at the Lincoln County Regional Jail but has since been released from custody, according to the jail website.

Kidd faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and failure to produce insurance card.
