Thanks from Fort Logan Cooperative Ministries

Dear Editor,

What a year this has been for Fort Logan Cooperative Ministries. So many churches, organizations and individuals supported the ministry with monetary and physical gifts that we were able to provide help with food, prescription co- pays and many other physical needs.

The Central Kentucky Karaoke Club raised a large monetary gift to help with Christmas. They raffled off items, did fund raisers and gave from their hearts to provide for our children. This year, the donation was made in memory of Cliff Scheebing who passed away before the donation could be presented. It was a sad occasion to accept the donation without him, as he was the member who spearheaded the Christmas fund drive and promoted it with enthusiasm. He will be missed by the Karaoke club and by all who knew his kind heart.

We certainly want to thank Cash Express for providing toys to enable us to provide Christmas gifts for many children this season. This is the third year of generous support from them. It was such a generous donation that we will be

able to provide a birthday gift for many small children of our clients through the year.

Lincoln Manufacturing provided donations from their employees. They provided food prior to Thanksgiving and also before Christmas. They took twenty angel names for Christmas. This has been an ongoing project for many years, and we certainly appreciate their continued giving.

Next, the Lion’s Club provided a Christmas musical program in cooperation with Grace Fellowship Church which netted food for both Fort Logan Ministry and Grace Fellowship food pantries. They also matched the offering to provide both food banks with a $250 credit allowance at Durham’s grocery. We all know the good that is done by the Lion’s Club, but we sure want to give them a big thank- you for these donations and to bless the members who worked so diligently to provide angel gifts for ten children.

Save-A- Lot sold food bags again this year to provide donated food for our shelves. They also provided food boxes for fifteen families at Christmas. They have also supported us for many years. The employees are exceptional and have provided support to the ministry throughout the year.

We also want to thank all of the Lincoln County churches that provide food on a monthly basis. However, it isn’t just about big donations. There are also smaller donations made by individuals on a monthly basis that allow us to help those who are in need of food.

I end this note by praying that all of you experience God’s grace this year.

God bless you,

Kay Peppard
