STANFORD — Lincoln County Firefighters put on a different hero’s hat last week as they took several children shopping in Stanford before the Christmas holiday.

Firefighters shopped with 37 kids on Dec. 23, using funds from fire department fundraisers, as well as donations made by local citizens and businesses of Lincoln County, according to District Chief John Hasty.

Donations for toys were also collected and given out to an additional 19 children within the county on Dec. 10, Hasty said.

“(The) Lincoln County Fire Department would like to say a special thank you to citizens and businesses for the donations,” Hasty said. “This event is able to happen every year thanks to such a great community.”
