Lue Veda Padgett, 90

Lue Veda Padgett, 90, of Stanford, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, at home.

Born July 25, 1927, in Waynesburg, to the late James and Maggie Hoseclaw, she was the widow of Lester Henry Padgett. She was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan who also enjoyed playing scrabble, working jigsaw puzzles, and reading her bible. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Padgett of Somerset and Gary Padgett (Connie) of Stanford; three daughters, Kaye Perkins (Clarence) of Muscle Shoals, Ala., Carolyn Vincent (Dave) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Judy Reynolds of Stanford; two sisters, Hester Hardwick of Waynesburg and Mary Mason (Jim) of Nicholasville; seven grandchildren, Jason Perkins, Misty Jones (Mitch), Robbie Reynolds, Kevin Perkins, Brad Padgett (Deanna), Will Padgett, and Chase Padgett (Danielle); three great-grandchildren, Taylor Padgett, Reagan Padgett, and Ethan Padgett; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellis Hoseclaw and Orville Hoseclaw; three sisters, Frances Coe and Adeline Derryberry and an infant sister; and one son-in-law, Robert Reynolds.

Graveside services were Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Double Springs Cemetery with Brad Padgett officiating the service.

Memorials in lieu of flowers preferred to Pleasant View Baptist Church Adult Women’s Sunday School Class or a charity of your choice.
