2018 ELECTION: Five more candidates file for office

STANFORD – Another week has passed since filing for the 2018 election opened and Lincoln County has five new candidates to consider, as of Monday. 

Adding to the seven who filed for offices in the first week, the five new candidates include: 

• David Gambrel, Democrat, incumbent, Lincoln County Property Valuation Administrator;

• Delbert Mitchell, Democrat, incumbent, Constable District 3; 

• Tyler Chase Marcum, Republican, Lincoln County Sheriff; 

• Farris Marcum, Democrat, incumbent, Lincoln County Coroner; 

• Teresa Reed, Democrat, incumbent, Lincoln County Circuit Clerk. 

Other local offices on the ballot will be Lincoln County School Board Districts 1 and 2, Lincoln County Magistrates, Lincoln County Constable Districts 1, 2 and 4, and city offices. 

The deadline to file for the 2018 primary election is 4 p.m. on Jan. 30. 

Hustonville City Council, Stanford City Council, Crab Orchard City Commission and mayoral seats must be filed by August 14.
