STANFORD – The City of Stanford regained the title of “Most Spirited Community” last week after Bourbon Chase runners made their way through town.

Stanford has received the award several times before but after losing the title last year, the Bourbon Chase Committee was more determined than ever to reignite the city’s spirit and regain the title.

Runners made their way through Stanford late Oct. 13 and early into the next morning, while volunteers stood by directing traffic and providing directions to the hospitality area.

John Sheryak, Director of the Bourbon Chase Race, stopped by last week to present Stanford’s Bourbon Chase committee with the award.

The award is one that is voted on by the runners, according to Lincoln County Chamber Director Andrea Miller.

The Bourbon Chase committee is selling commemorative ornaments and magnets to help fund next year’s race. They are available at the Chamber office, or at Kentucky Soaps & Such for $5.
