45th District soccer postseason starts Monday; Lincoln, Boyle host

The postseason is here!
The Lincoln County girls’ and boys’ soccer teams closed out the regular season this week and will begin postseason play next week in the 45th District Tournament.
The girls district tournament gets underway Monday, Oct. 9, at Boyle County High School’s Rebel Stadium.
Host Boyle County, the top seed and five-time defending district champ, and Lincoln County, the four seed, will face off in the girls opener at 6 p.m.
The Danville girls, the two seed, and Garrard County, the three seed, will do battle in the second game at 8 p.m.
The two-seeded Lincoln County soccer Patriots are the host team for the boys district tournament starting on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Four-time defending district champion Boyle County, the boys’ No. 1 seed, will take on fourth-seeded Garrard County at 6 p.m. The soccer Patriots will play third-seeded Danville in the nightcap at 8 p.m.
The girls championship game will be played on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. and the boys championship will be decided on Thursday, Oct. 12, also at 7 p.m.
Cost of admission at both venues is $5. Coaching cards will be accepted (only admits one).
First-round winners all advance to region.
