The 53rd annual Ewell and Ella Saylor Hopkins Reunion was held Saturday, Sept. 2 at the William Whitley House near Crab Orchard. Ella Saylor Hopkins died in 1960 and after Ewell’s death in 1965, their children determined to get together once a year for a reunion in remembrance of their parents. It was a cool and drizzly day, but we still had 42 guests in attendance this year. After the blessing was given by Kevin Bandura, everyone enjoyed a large potluck dinner and some great fellowship.
Those in attendance were: Lester and Shelley Hopkins; Gladys Saylor; Pauline Griggs; Shelby Roy and Deborah Hopkins; Daniel, Mary and Will Hopkins; Jessica Sayre; David and Wilma Hopkins Lubecki; David and Tammy Hopkins; Roger and Caroline Lear Durham; Judy Dyehouse Hammons; Kevin, Jennifer, Kaycie and Kade Bandura; Kenneth and Kathy Dyehouse; Marvin and Rhonda Dyehouse Marshbanks; Robert Olsen; Jennifer Burt; Gage Burt; Janice Fain; Tonya Fain; Staci and Chloe Carmack; George and Joan Lansaw; William and Loretta Masters Wilson; Loraine Hopkins Masters; Jerry and Linda Masters; Sandy Masters Cole; Tina Stamper; and Ted Croushorn.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for coming to this year’s reunion and invite everyone back next year for our 54th annual reunion. It will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018. If you weren’t able to attend or been in the habit of attending, we’d like to see you next year too!
