Funeral services for Donald Gene Franklin, 81, of Frankfort, are at 12:00 p.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 7) at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. Bertha Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Hustonville Cemetery in Lincoln County. Visitation is being held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Franklin died Saturday, Sept. 2 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gilpin, Ky. and spent most of his life as a contractor. He worked as a security guard at Buffalo Trace Distillery, was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Stanford and was of Baptist faith.

He was the son of the late Claude and Leona Clemons Franklin. Gene was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Badgett Franklin.

Survivors include his partner, Betty Riddle of Frankfort and several nieces and nephews.
