LCMS Lady Eagles go 5-1

The wins just keep on coming for the LCMS girls basketball teams. 

This past week the Lady Eagles completed a sweep over Mercer County Middle and a 2-1 run against Danville Bate.

The Lincoln sixth-grade girls dominated their opponents, steamrolling Mercer 50-18 then following with a 42-2 pummeling of Bate.

Ellyann Sims poured in a game-high 16 points in the 50-18 Mercer win while Talynne Shearer scored 13. Also scoring for Lincoln against Mercer were Chelsea Barnes, nine points, Makayla Greer, three, Maecey Carrier, Macey Rice, Angel Denny, and Tori Wilburn, two points apiece, and Emily Hawkins, one point.

Chelsea Barnes paced Lincoln in the 42-2 victory over Bate with 16 points.

Shearer followed with 10 points, Carrier and Greer each had five, and Rheagan McKnight, Denny, and Hawkins each had two. 

Lincoln made it a sweep in its meeting with Mercer by picking up a 49-32 win in the seventh-grade game and a 45-37 victory in the eighth-grade game.

Chloee Dunn led the seventh-grade girls with 15 points and Emily Estes followed with 10. Talynne Shearer and Mercedes Hensley each had seven points, Peyton Boyd and Emmie Releford both had three, and Chloe Ralston and Tessa Staton had two.

Alyvia Taylor and Ally Lynn shared high-scoring honors in the eighth-grade game with 10 points each.  Kelby Petrey had nine, Haleigh Ellison had eight, Chloee Dunn had four, and Abby Lane and Claudia Padgett each had two.

In action with Danville Bate, the seventh-grade Lady Eagles rolled 36-11.
Shearer led the way with 10 points. Dunn contributed eight points, Ralston and Boyd each had six, Lakyn York had four, and Estes had two.

Lincoln’s lone loss for the week was a nailbiter, with Bate edging the Lady Eagles 37-35.  

Leading Lincoln was Lynn with 14 points.  Taylor scored seven points,  Dunn and Ellison each had five points, Ralston had three, and Padgett got a free throw toss.
