4-H Longshots medal at district

The Lincoln County 4-H Longshots recently participated in the District 4 Shoot at Berea, with several members bringing home medals for their efforts.
The Longshots claimed their hardware in the Barebow Archery and BB Rifle divisions, clinching one first-place medal and two runner-up medals.
The Lincoln team of Trace Bryant, Kathryn Davis, Kalyn Peek, and Peyton Pleasants took first place in the 9-11 team division in Barebow Archery.
Peek and Taylor Wesley also medaled as individuals, with Peek placing second in the 9-11 individual division of Barebow Archery while Wesley took the runner-up spot in the 15-18 individual BB Rifle division.
The Longshots, who had practiced monthly on disciplines consisting of archery, trap (shotgun), and .22 pistol, had a total of eight shooters participating in the District 4 competition. They were Trace Bryant, Kathryn Davis, Jordan Hall, John Hughes, Kalyn Peek, Eli Pleasants,
Peyton Pleasants, and Taylor Wesley. Jordan Hall and John Hughes competed in the Trap event. All other members shot archery and/or BB Rifle.
The group is coached by Andy Ferguson, Alan Hubble, Jerry Wesley, Cindy Wesley, Steven Sneed, and Ricky Mullins. Teen Leaders of the group are: Taylor Wesley, Roby Mullins, and Gabe Singleton. The group has received support from the NRA Foundation and Fayette Erectors during the 2016-2017 season.
