Are you ready for some football … and great food?

Football season is almost upon us, with the Death Valley Bowl season opener just 15 days away, and that means it’s time to celebrate one of the Patriot pigskin traditions – the annual Meet the Patriots Pig Roast.

The pig roast, sponsored by the Lincoln Football Boosters Club, will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, in the LCHS cafeteria and provides fans the opportunity to meet the Patriot players, coaches and cheerleaders and to start some football talk about the prospects for the upcoming season.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased from any football player and will be available at the door.

This year’s menu is pulled pork, baked beans, dessert and drink. Hot dogs will also be served for the kids.

After feasting on the pulled pork meal, players, their families and fans can focus on both a live and silent auction. All proceeds from the pig roast and auctions benefit the Patriot football team.

The list of auction items already donated includes: Whitetail Heaven Hunt Adventure, valued at $3,150; Maker’s Mark dipped footballs; trail cams; a tree stand; knives; wreaths; candles; gift cards; and etc.
