Lincoln students win state and national DAR awards

The Logan-Whitley Chapter, DAR announces its Junior American Citizens’ State and National Contest Winners.
The Kentucky State DAR is in the East Central National Division (ECND) which includes Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and West Virginia. There were 24 Chapter winners of which 23 won state awards, 14 won East Central Division awards and ten (10) won National awards. Four (4) entries won first place in the Nation.
The topic this year was “Our National Parks: 100 Years of Service to America”.
Lincoln students winning awards were:
Poster Contest: First grade – Hollie Nash first place State; second grade – Annie Correll first place State, first place ECND, first place National; third grade – Nolan Hamm first place State, first place ECND, first place National; fourth grade – Nicholas Demond first place State; fifth grade – Maggie Day third place State and Sierra Downey first place State, first place ECND.
Banner Contest: fourth grade – Melany Tapio-Lopez, Shay Schmiers and Nevaeh Schmiers first place State, first place ECND, first place National; fifth grade – Axel Noel, Lucian Solano, Lucius Solano third place State.
Photo Essay Contest: fourth grade – Kerynna Jarman first place State, first place ECND; fifth grade – Laurissa Jarman first place State, first place ECND, third place National.
Stamp Design Contest: first grade – Kaleb Robinson second place State, second grade – Payton Hargis first place State, first place ECND, HM National; third grade – Cambria Jacobs first place State, first place ECND, second place National; fourth grade – Evan Claunch second place State; fifth grade – Paisley Gay second place State; fifth Grade – Devanee Edwards first place State; eighth grade – Ada Ladwig first place State, first place ECND, first place National.
Short Story Contest: fourth grade – Lyric Harris second place State; seventh grade – Sarah Adkins first place State, third place ECND; eighth grade – Zachary Coffman first place State, first place ECND, second place National.
Poem Contest: third grade – Emerson Lynn first place State, first place ECND, second place National; fourth grade -Jackson Osbourn first place State, first place ECND, HM National; fifth grade – Maryiah Masterson first place State, third place ECND.
