Chill’s 5K Run/Walk set for Sept. 4

The annual Fort Logan F.O.P. Lodge #84 Chill’s 5K Run/Walk will be held Monday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. in downtown Stanford.
The annual race, which is held in memory of Capt. T.J. and Cindy Hill, helps fund scholarship money for students in Lincoln and Garrard County.
The registration fee is $20 if you register before Aug. 20 and $25 after that. Those registered early can choose between a dri-fit or cotton t-shirt. Cotton shirts will be available on the day of the race while they last.
Registration forms can be found at the Lincoln County Attorney’s office, the Stanford Police Department, Stanford City Hall and other businesses in Stanford. To have a registration form sent to you, call 859-319-2120. Registration opens at 9 a.m. the day of the race.
The Fort Logan F.O.P. Lodge #84 presented the following students with scholarships this past school year from money raised during last year’s Chill’s 5K.
– Roland Taylor, Lincoln County, $1,000.
– Allie MacKenzie Elam Harness, Lincoln County, $500.
– Tori Anness, Garrard County, $500.
– Shelby Kyle, Garrard County, $500.
– McKenna Newman, Garrard County, $500.
