Nurses attending training
The nursing staff at the Lincoln County Health Department will be unavailable on Tuesday, June 13. All health department nurses will be attending a mandatory training.
2017 Rabies Clinic
The 2017 Lincoln County Rabies Vaccination Clinic will be held on the following dates: Monday, June 26 – 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Waynesburg Elementary School; Wednesday, June 28 – 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Crab Orchard Elementary School; Friday, June 30 – 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Hustonville Elementary School; and Friday, June 30 – 6:30 to to 8 p.m. (evening clinic) at Lincoln County High School. Rabies vaccination fees are $5. Sponsored by Lincoln County Health Department, Dr. Jonathan Alford and Dr. Devin Carlton.
Democrat Woman’s  Club to meet
The Democrat Woman’s Club will meet Thursday, June 8 at 5 p.m. at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant. Judge David Tapp will share information on Drug Court. All ladies are welcome.
Nature’s Thyme Herb Group
Nature’s Thyme Herb Group meeting this month is a Garden Tour at the home of Nell Manning located at  3225 US 27 South, Stanford. The meeting will be Thursday, June 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a tour of Nell’s gardens. Blood drive to be held
The need for blood doesn’t take a vacation. Accidents, surgeries, cancer therapies and disease treatments continue year round. To help ensure a strong summer blood supply, Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) is inviting everyone to roll  up their sleeves and be a summer lifesaver. The blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, June 15 from 1 to 6 p.m. in the fellowship room at Stanford Presbyterian Church, 213 East Main Street. Walk-ins are welcome, but if you would like to make an appointment you may call 800-775-2522 ext. 3758. Blood donors must be 17-years-old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Donors must also show a photo I.D. with first and last name, like a state-issued driver’s license. As a thank you, everyone 18 years and older who registers to give blood will be automatically entered to win a 2017 Toyota Highland (giveaway will run from June 1-Sept. 8).
Rocky Ford Masonic Lodge #765 to host community potluck
Rocky Ford Masonic Lodge #765 will host a friend to friend community potluck meal on Saturday, June 10. We will eat at 5:30 p.m. so bring a dish with something in it and join us for a delicious meal and good fellowship. Located on Highway 78 W. nine miles from Hustonville.
Cow Bell Days begins in June
The second annual Cow Bell Days will take place in downtown Stanford Friday and Saturday, June 16 and 17.  This family friendly event will kickoff with a car cruise on Friday night, art and craft vendors, food, and music.  The festivities will continue on Saturday with a country breakfast, farmers market, parade, and ice cream eating contest. Cow Bell Days Parade registration open
The Cow Bell Days parade is open to all businesses, clubs, churches, civic groups and individuals interested in creating a float, carrying banners, handing out candy or driving their classic car, sporty convertible, decorated golf cart or tractor down Main Street. It is also a great way to create awareness for your business or group, and participate in a fun downtown event at the same time. Logan-Hubble Park events
The community is invited to be a part of the following event scheduled at the Logan-Hubble Park: June 10 – 9 a.m. to noon – Join us for the first William “Bill” Martin Youth Fishing Derby sponsored by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife to celebrate the designation as a FINS Lake.
From Compassion to Action; Volunteer for SHIP

Legal Aid of the Bluegrass’s SHIP(Senior Health Insurance Assistance)Program is the answer. SHIP has knowledgeable, caring staff and volunteers that can train you to resolve Medicare issues for the elderly and vulnerable in your community. Lions Club monthly meetings
The Lions Club meets on the first and third Mondays every month at the Lincoln County Public Library. The public is encouraged to attend and are invited to join the Lions Club! The Lions Club is here to serve the community. Cedar Creek Sportsman Club meetings
The Cedar Creek Sportsman Club meets every third Tuesday of the month with a meeting and meal. Membership is $60/year. Anyone wanting to rent building, please contact Phyllis Adams at (606) 355-0276.
Square Dance lessons
Fort Logan Pioneers Square Dance Club mainstream lessons are being held at the Habitat Building, 4160 Hwy. 27 South, Stanford from 7 to 9 p.m. First lesson is free. Call (859) 410-4556 for more information.
Stanford Rotary Club meetings
The Stanford Rotary Club meets most Mondays at noon, at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Zentangle 101: Third Thursday of every month (through June 2017), 10 a.m. to noon. A different Zentangle project will be instructed step by step. Beginners and experts are welcome to attend. The Zentangle Method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Call the library to register (365-7513).
Happy Scrappers: Crafting Club:Third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library.  Bring your craft projects and supplies and spend the day working on your unfinished projects, get new ideas or learn a new skill.
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class/Strong Women Program: Presented by the Lincoln County Health Dept. is held Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 at the Lincoln County Public Library. We will focus on flexibility and strength training exercises. New participants are always welcome.
