Stanford Lions Club to host Marching Ant 5K for diabetes awareness

On Monday, May 29, 2017, at 8:30AM, the streets of downtown Stanford will be filled with runners making strides for diabetes awareness.  This year’s 5K Run/Walk is hosted by the Stanford Lions Club.  Following the lead of the Lions Club International (LCI), the local club wants to help, in every way possible, find ways to prevent this disease from causing debilitating health problems of people in the local community.  Proceeds from the race will be used for diabetes awareness projects in the local area.  The offices of Dr. Bates, Miller, & Sims is a major sponsor of the race.

About the 5K race:

WHEN:  Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day)

WHERE:  Downtown Stanford (the race will begin at the Stanford Fire Department)

COST:  Registration by Monday, May 22 is $20 (also ensures a dri-fit cotton shirt); after May 22nd, registration is $25 and runners will be guaranteed a cotton t-shirt

RACE DAY CHECK-IN:  7:30AM-8:15AM at the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce office (201 East Main Street, Stanford)

AWARDS CEREMONY:  Following the race, ceremony will take place on the Lincoln County Courthouse steps.
