Geneva Cornett Lanigan, 66, of Brooksville, Fla., (formerly of Lincoln County) passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at HPH Hospice Care Center in Brooksville, Fla.
Born October 9, 1950, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Maymie Godby Cornett. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Cornett of Brooksville, Fla.; three daughters, Margaret H. Tarver of Spring Hill, Fla., Daytonia E. Cornett of Brooksville, Fla., and Danielle L. Johnston (Jesse) of Hurst, Texas; one son, Danny Lee Lanigan, Jr. of Brooksville, Fla.; a step-son, Kevin M. Decker of Charlotte, N.C.; four brothers, Charles Cornett, Earl Cornett, Glenwood Cornett and Jerry Cornett; five sisters, Alice Foley, Linda Coleman, Brenda Coleman, Mary Ann Padgett, and Helen Ryan all of Kings Mountain; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Eulain Cornett; and one sister, Anna Cornett.
Graveside services were Friday, April 28 at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg with Rev. Vola Brown officiating.
Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford was in charge of the arrangements.
