Easter Egg Hunt
The City of Crab Orchard is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. This will be for children ages 10 and under. The hunts will be located at The city’s Veterans Park, the City Park and Donnie Brummett’s home located on the corner of Elm Street and Main Street. LC Republican Party to meet
The Lincoln County Republican Party will meet Tuesday, April 11, at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library.

Lincoln Memorial ceremony
Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park invites you to witness the Lincoln Memorial Ceremony that was held 152 years ago at Camp Nelson. The 12th USCT Heavy Artillery regiment will honor the death of President Lincoln with a 21 cannon salute on Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m. The Association of Lincoln Presenters will be in attendance. Admission is free.

Waynesburg Order of Eastern Star to hold bazaar
Waynesburg Order of Eastern Star will hold a bazaar on Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge Building (at the corner of Hwy. 27 and Hwy. 328 in Waynesburg). Some of the vendors that will be present are Premier Jewelry, Matilda Jane, Tupperware and Avon. Lunch will be available to purchase. Free Hunter Education
student course
A free Kentucky hunter education student course is scheduled for Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cedar Creek Sportsman Club, located off Hwy. 150 near Cedar Creek Lake Dam on Sportsman Lane Road. The course includes firearm safety, tree stand safety, bow hunting and ammunition. The last session includes live fire and a written examination. Attendance at all sessions is required unless an alternative classroom method is utilized. Pre-registration is required for all courses and is completed by visiting the Hunter Education page at fw.ky.gov. Free Dump Days for Lincoln County residents
Free dump days for Lincoln County residents will be April 19-24. The free dump days are for residential customers only, no commercial businesses. Residents are encouraged to bring their junk to the dumpsters located at 7910 Old Liberty Rd in Hustonville (across from City Hall). Household junk, clothing, appliances and other miscellaneous items will be accepted. No tires or propane tanks.

LC Health Department to hold monthly diabetes meeting
The Lincoln County Diabetes Support Group will meet Thursday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at the Lincoln County Health Department. The topic for April is “Diabetes Complications”. Anyone is welcome to attend. Stanford Litter Cleanup
A Stanford litter cleanup will be held Friday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers can sign up in front of the PVA/Chamber of Commerce office. Trash bags and gloves will be given to volunteers.

Logan-Hubble Park events

Clean up/work day at the park. Volunteers welcome. City of Stanford
Spring Cleanup
City of Stanford 2017 Spring Cleanup will be held from April 17 – 28. Household items and tree limbs are to be placed by the curb for pickup. Tree limbs are to be no longer than 6 feet in length and tied into bundles. No trees which have been cut down will be picked up. Summer School
Feeding program
The Lincoln County Board of Education is sponsoring the “Summer Feeding Program” in Lincoln County. Faith-based, community and private non-profit organizations can make a difference in the lives of hungry children by serving FREE meals with the Summer Feeding Program. This program provides a free opportunity to add an additional facet to your Vacation Bible Schools. If your church or organization is involved in any summer youth programs from June 5-August 2, we encourage you to participate. (We will not be able to provide meals on July 4). Meals may be picked up at Fort Logan High Lunchroom.
We will conduct a required training on May 27, starting at 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the board room at the Lincoln County Board of Education. One person who is in charge of the meals will need to attend the training.

Alzheimer’s Disease Series
 We will be offering a series of educational programs related to Alzheimer’s Disease. Dates and topics will be:  April 11 – 10 a.m.  – Brain Tour; April 18 – 10 a.m. – Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease: Learn what legal and financial issues to consider and how to put plans in place. This program will be taught by Jay McShurley & Morrow Law Office. May 9 – 10 a.m. – Healthy Living for your Brain and Body; May 16 – 10 a.m. – Alzheimer’s Disease Focus Group Meeting. Farmer’s Market
In order to participate in the WIC  and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Programs and accept those food instruments during the upcoming Lincoln County Farmers Market Season, you must participate in a required training which will be Monday, April 10, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lincoln County Extension Office located at 104 Metker Trail in Stanford.  If you have participated in this program in prior years and have a stamp and ink pad, please bring it with you. Fishing event for children
The Lincoln County Safe Community Taskforce and Operation UNITE invite all children to a fishing event Friday, May 5 at Cedar Creek Lake. Registration begins at 5 p.m., fishing begins at 6 p.m.. A hot dog meal will be provided, bring your own fishing pole, or use one provided. Prizes will also be awarded. Follow the signs at Cedar Creek Lake.

Save the Date: May 19-21 for Reenactment of the Siege of 1777
Step back in time to help commemorate the 240th anniversary of the Siege of 1777 at Logan’s Fort.  The Fort will serve as the backdrop for a reenactment of the siege on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21 at  2 p.m. Join us throughout the day for living history demonstrations, a frontier era merchant’s village, as well as settler and Native American encampments. There will also be food vendors, children’s activities, hayrides, and horse and wagon rides. Admission to the park on Saturday and Sunday is $5, 12 and under are free. Lions Club monthly meetings
The Lions Club meets on the first and third Mondays every month at the Lincoln County Public Library. The public is encouraged to attend and are invited to join the Lions Club! The Lions Club is here to serve the community. Happy Scrappers: Crafting Club: Third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library.  Bring your craft projects and supplies and spend the day working on your unfinished projects, get new ideas or learn a new skill. 
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class/Strong Women Program: Presented by the Lincoln County Health Dept. is held Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 at the Lincoln County Public Library. (No class on March 27) We will focus on flexibility and strength training exercises. New participants are always welcome. 
Kentucky Chautauqua: Simon Kenton, Frontiersman 1755-1836 will be at Lincoln County Public Library on Saturday, May 13 at 1 p.m. – One of Kentucky’s greatest frontiersman will step out of Daniel Boone’s shadow and live again when Kentucky Chautauqua presents Mel Hankla in a compelling living history portrayal of Simon Kenton (1755-1836).  Simon Kenton, certain he had killed another boy in a fight over a girl, fled west from Virginia at the age of 16.  He was wrong, but the incident launched him on a life of high adventure.  This program was funded in part by the Kentucky Humanities Council, Inc.
