EMRMC is accepting applications for Medicaid Nurse Aide Training Courses. The Medicaid Nurse Aide training course is to prepare the nurse aide to provide high quality, direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nurse personnel. Nurse aides provide care to people of all ages in various healthcare settings. Medicaid Nurse Aides are usually responsible for tasks such as:
•Checking and recording patient’s temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respirations
•Assisting patients with activities of daily living
•Assisting with patient’s personal hygiene
The next training course begins April 24 and continues through May 18. Classes will meet April 24, 26, 28, May 1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 18 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The training course will be held at the Gilcher Building in the Barton Room. The deadline for applications is March 30.
Enrollment is limited and based on an application/interview process and the submission of required documents. Participants must have a high school diploma or GED. The class cost is $750. The fee includes a book, workbook and the cost of the state board exam.
