Crab Orchard students Sierra Hopkins, Autumn Lowery and Chloe Boyle show off the turkeys they made during the Family Connections FRYSC sponsored “Thanksgiving Day” literacy activity held at the school. For this project each student was read “Thanksgiving Day Thanks” by Laura Malone Elliott. Students were then asked to make a turkey, any kind of their choosing, and write a short paragraph about three things they were most thankful for. Many students participated in this activity, displaying creativity, imagination, originality and much craftsmanship.
