The Green Thumb Garden Club held its first meeting of the year on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Senior Citizen Center.
Club president, Gwen Pyle, called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m. In commemoration of Valentine’s Day, members answered roll call with the name of heart shaped flowers. Following the short business meeting, the club received educational material about the “Bleeding Heart” plant.
For the garden craft of the month, members had a choice of making gourd planters or bird houses for their garden. Members painted their gourds with glossy indoor/outdoor paints and enjoyed their handcraft immensely.
The next meeting will be Thursday, March 9 at 2 p.m. Wanda Napier will be the hostess.
