Free Yoga Class
Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center is offering a free Yoga class for seniors 60 and older. The class will be held on Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m.  at the LC Senior Citizen Center, 100 Senior Way, beginning March 3 and will run for eight weeks. For registration call (606) 365-9016.

Basket Workshop
An introductory class for basket making will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Old Fort Harrod State Park at James Harrod Conference Center from 9 a.m. to 5 pm. Call (859) 734-3314 for more information and to register by Feb. 23. Mary Barlow, instructor.

Memorial Class of 1969
Ladies Luncheon
The Memorial Class of 1969 Ladies Luncheon will be held Friday, March 3 at noon at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant in Stanford. Please come and join  us. For more information, call (606) 379-2343.

LC Republican Party
to hold elections
The Lincoln County Republican Party will meet Tuesday, March 14, at the Lincoln County Public Library to hold Precinct Committee Elections to elect local officers for four-year terms. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m., meeting starts at 7 p.m.  

William Whitley House Friends Group Organization 
With the busy season approaching, we would like to host a meeting to see how many of our friends would be interested in organizing a “Friends of the William Whitley House”. The group would be willing to help with the mission and goals of the Park for 2017 and beyond. I know there are many people that have a passion for the William Whitley House with memories of visiting the park for a reunion, picnic, school group or maybe a wedding. We will be having a meeting at the park Thursday, February 23 at 6:30 PM at the park office to discuss the organization of the Friends Group. I hope we will have a large interested crowd who would like to be involved in assisting and promoting their local Kentucky State Park. Save the Date: May 19-21 for Reenactment of the Siege of 1777
Step back in time to help commemorate the 240th anniversary of the Siege of 1777 at Logan’s Fort.  The Fort will serve as the backdrop for a reenactment of the siege on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21 at  2 p.m. Join us throughout the day for living history demonstrations, a frontier era merchant’s village, as well as settler and Native American encampments. There will also be food vendors, children’s activities, hayrides, and horse and wagon rides. Admission to the park on Saturday and Sunday is $5, 12 and under are free. Father/Daughter Dance
The Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce presents the first annual Father/Daughter Dance! This will be held Saturday, March 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Stanford Ballroom, above the Bluebird. Fathers, uncles, grandfathers or father figures are invited to spend an enchanted evening full of music, dancing, light snacks and desserts, photos, silent auction and more. Ticket prices are $20 couple and additional $5 for an additional daughter. Contact any Chamber Board member or call the Chamber office at (606) 365-4118 for tickets. Music by Tim Estes.

Nominations for Chamber Awards
Nominations are now being accepted for the Annual Chamber Banquet Awards, April 11. Nominations will be accepted for Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Healthcare Provider and The Big Apple Award. Nomination forms are available on line at Lincolncountyhchamber.com, or at the Chamber office, 201 E Main, Stanford. Please call the Chamber for questions, (606) 365-4118.

Cedar Creek Sportsman
Club meetings
The Cedar Creek Sportsman Club meets every third Tuesday of the month with a meeting and meal. Membership is $60/year. Anyone wanting to rent building, please contact Phyllis Adams at (606) 355-0276.
  Spring Soccer Registration
2017 Spring Soccer Registration is February 6-24. You can register online at www.lincolncountyparks.org or in the park office M-F 10AM-4PM. Re-Registration (players returning from the Fall 2016 Season): $30. New Registration: U6/U8-$55.00, U10/U12-$65.00. Age Divisions: U12: 1/1/05-12/31/06; U10: 1/1/07-12/31/08; U8: 1/1/09-12/31/10; and U6: 1/1/11-12/31/12.

Heritage Hospice
Volunteer Training
Heritage Hospice, Inc., will host a Volunteer Training session on Saturday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Heritage Hospice office at 120 Enterprise Drive in Danville. Interested persons willing to donate their time and talents to the Hospice Program are welcome to attend. Volunteer opportunities include clerical work, patient visits, fundraising and special events. For information, call the Heritage Hospice office and ask for the volunteer department (859) 236-2425. Deadline to register for the training class is Wednesday, March 15.

Stanford Rotary Club meetings
The Stanford Rotary Club meets most Mondays at noon, at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Lions Club monthly meetings
The Lions Club meets on the first and third Mondays every month at the Lincoln County Public Library. The public is encouraged to attend and are invited to join the Lions Club! The Lions Club is here to serve the community. LC Prom set for April 15
The Lincoln County Prom will be held Saturday, April 15. The Youth Services Center is looking for prom dresses, shoes and jewelry to help make sure every young lady has a magical time at the prom. Please call the Lincoln County Chamber for questions or for pick up at (606) 365-4118.

Zentangle 101: Third Thursday of every month, 10 a.m. to noon. A different Zentangle project will be instructed step by step. Beginners and experts are welcome to attend. The Zentangle Method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Call the library to register (365-7513).
Tech Tuesdays: Feb. 28 – Dr. Seuss Science Lab – celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with Seuss inspired science; March 7 – Makey Makey – turn everyday objects into touchpads. Come see what you can invent.
Pushing the Limits: Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. Unleash your mind. Explore and get involved in ideas about nature, connections, survival and knowledge. This new series brings together books and videos featuring authors, scientists, and everyday people who thrive on exploring the natural world.
Engineering Science Expo: Saturday, March 11 at 12 p.m. Explore the concepts of physics through a series of hands-on engineering challenges.
