45th District tourney opens Monday

Ready or not, the postseason is here!
The Lincoln County girls’ and boys’ basketball teams begin postseason play next week in the 45th District Tournament.
The tournament gets underway Monday, Feb. 20, at Boyle County High School, with host Boyle County and Kentucky School for the Deaf facing off in girls’ action at 6 p.m. and the Garrard County boys and KSD doing battle in the second game at 7:45 p.m.
The three-time defending district champion Lincoln County Patriots, the boys’ No. 1 seed, will take the court Tuesday in the first semifinal round. The Patriots will play the Garrard/KSD winner at 7:45 p.m.
Danville, the girls’ top seed, will play the winner of the Boyle/KSD game Tuesday in the first semifinal game at 6 p.m.
The Lady Patriots, the defending district champions and No. 2 seed, will see action Wednesday, Feb. 22, in the second semifinal round, taking on the Garrard County girls at 6 p.m.
Host Boyle County plays Danville in game two Wednesday. The tip for the boys’ game is set for 7:45.
The tourney final games will be played on Friday, Feb. 24, at 6 and 7:45 p.m.
