John William Blanton, 76, of Crab Orchard, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017.
Born June 22, 1940, in Crab Orchard, John was a son the late William J. and Mary Elizabeth (Saylor) Blanton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Randall “Randy” Blanton and Richard Allen “Ricky” Blanton; a brother, Tommy Blanton; and two grandchildren, Trevor and Erica Blanton.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a great grandson, Dylan Riegel.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today (Thursday, January 12) at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Bro. Roger Pigg and Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Coldiron Family Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Caswell Saufley Post # 18 of Stanford.
Active pallbearers are James Reynolds, Mike Eldridge, Jerry Petrey and Lloyd Hensley.
A masonic service was held on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
