Gearldean (Claunch) Snyder, 86, died Monday, December 19, 2016 at Autumn Woods Healthcare with her family at her side.
Gearldean was one of thirteen children. She was born June 16, 1930, in Waynesburg, Ky., to the late LeRoy and Oma (Caldwell) Claunch. She was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker and the widow of Clarence Edward Snyder Jr. whom she married April 25, 1954, he died in June of 1996. She was a longtime member of Charlestown Road Church of Christ and a huge University of Kentucky “Cats” fan. Gearldean will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and eleven siblings, Lillian Cloyd, Katie Early, Joe Claunch, Oma Lee Claunch, Mae Tillery, Elsie Carmicle, Gertrude Stonecypher, Fleeda McCurry, Mildred Campbell, James Claunch and David Claunch.
Survivors include children, Louise Snyder, Edward Snyder (Terri) and Susan Nicholson; grandchildren, Alex, Taylor, Anna Laura and Hayden; sister, Yvonne Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 22 at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany, Ind. Burial was Friday, December 23 in the Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, Ky.
