When St. Catharine College closed after her sophomore year, former Lincoln goalie Jerrica Kidd thought her soccer career was over, in addition to having to make a decision on her educational future. Kidd’s decision ended up leading her to Brescia University in Owensboro where she was given a chance to continue her college soccer career. Although the Bearcats proved to be a very young team, they grew closer together and improved with each game as the year went along. Kidd started every game at the goalie position with the exception of the last three which she missed due to a knee injury. Not only was Kidd able to continue her soccer, she merited one of the team’s top awards. On Saturday, Dec. 3 the Brescia Women’s soccer team had their annual awards banquet and Kidd was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. Kidd accepted the award from her coaches assistant coach Lauren Brooks and head coach David Ralph.
