JD Noe one of three Kentucky seniors receiving national honor

Alpha Omega Home School senior John Noe II (JD) of Lincoln County, Henry Clay High School senior Hye Jee Kim and Zebulon James Hart a Montgomery County High School senior were named “Top Twelve Leaders Nationally” in awards ceremonies held at the Clayton Plaza Hotel in St. Louis MO.
Noe and Hart also were each awarded the “Insightful Leader Award,” voted on by each of their team members. Three additional students from the Central Kentucky area attended the conference. They were Kennedy Sabharwal, Sayre School; Maison Nichols, Madison Central High School and Cameron Hedden, Shelby County High School.
The all-expense paid trips to attend the National Council on Youth Leadership conference at Washington University in St. Louis were sponsored by Holifield Photography in Lexington, Kentucky. The students were joined by other Youth Salute leaders from across the nation at the four day event October 15-18, 2016.
The “Youth Salute” is conducted annually through the National Council on Youth Leadership in cooperation with the Central Kentucky Council on Youth Leadership.
“Students must be nominated by their high school counselors, teachers, principals and other community leaders to participate in Youth Salute,” said Jim Holifield, Chairman of the Central Kentucky Council on Youth Leadership.  “All nominees must be high school juniors at the time they are nominated, have at least a 3.0 grade point average and have been chosen by their peers or an adult leader for at least two (2) leadership roles in school, religious or community sponsored organizations during the past two years” said Holifield.
Noe, the son of John and Melissa Noe, was named 2016 Central Kentucky Youth Leader of the Year and Top School Winner from Alpha Omega Home School. Kim is the daughter of Eun Jung Bae and Yung Soo Kim and Hart is the son of Steven and Tamara Hart.
