Freda L. Gooch, 90

Freda L. Gooch, 90, of KY Hwy 501 in Kings Mountain, passed away Friday, November 11, at her residence. 
Born Monday, March 1, 1926, in Knightstown, Indiana, Freda was a daughter of the late Henry Clay and Lillie Elrod Montgomery. She was the widow of S.D. Gooch, whom she married April 30, 1948 and preceded her in death March 23, 2014. Freda was retired, after 26 ½ years, as the postmaster for Kings Mountain. She was a faithful member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, where she served for many years as the secretary. Freda was the Past President for NAPUS for the state of Kentucky, officer of the KP Hall Cemetery Board (since 1967), a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and she loved making quilts in her spare time. 
Freda leaves behind two sons, David Alan Gooch of Stanford and Stanley Clay Gooch (Sue) of Lexington; three grandchildren, Shannette Michelle Ouellette of Junction City, Crystal Baker of Lexington and Nathan Alan Gooch of Kings Mountain; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan Lynn Gooch, Sarah Gooch, Bethany Ouellette, Morgan Gooch, Elizabeth Ouellette, Riley Baker and Lily McKenna Gooch; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. 
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Richard Gooch; two brothers, Phillip Keith Montgomery and Marvin Montgomery; and four sisters, Florence Estill, Lois Brooks, Marguerite Aldridge and Pauline Rice. 
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Locust Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Kerry Jones officiating. Burial was in KP Hall Cemetery. 
Active pallbearers were Clifford “Shorty” Gooch, Morgan Gooch, Robert Logue, Nathan Lynn Gooch, Jody Roberts and Micah Goodpaster . 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to KP Hall Cemetery Fund, 5350 KY Hwy 501, Kings Mountain, KY 40442.
