Brother Tim Bertram gave a message with a focus on missions, saying many things interrupt us, such as phone calls during meals and other things. We don’t like interruptions, he said.
But if you look at the scriptures, you find that God uses interruptions to change our lives. Brother Tim gave examples of Joseph, Moses, Gideon, Job, and others.
In Luke 7, Jesus encountered a funeral; a man had died, and this activated the compassion of Jesus, which is the key to activating the heart of Jesus, Brother Tim said.
God has every right to interrupt our lives. When we accept him, he is our Lord. Our lives were bought with a price, and we belong to Him.
No one asked Jesus for help, Brother Tim said. But he interrupted and did it. His command to rise up is our calling today. Jesus wants to raise us up from heart breaks, addictions, and pain.
So many of us are slaves to our past, but he freed us from that.
Jesus doesn’t want us to mind being messy when we serve him, Brother  Tim said. Ministry is messy, hard, discouraging. We may have to disregard what others say to serve others.
Brother Tim listed things we can do to embrace our interruptions: 1) Examine our lives (2 Corinthians 13:5). 2) Grow up (Hebrews 5:12-14). 3) We should filter the noise. We spend our lives being successful at things that have no eternal value; stop making excuses (Luke 14:9). 4) We have immediate access to the Lord. He sent the Holy Spirit because he is relational. Be patient and know your role in the Kingdom, Brother Tim said.
We all have different gifts and abilities, Brother Tim said. We are parts of one body; we function better when we are together.
