WAYNESBURG – What began as a response to a burglary in progress turned into a drug arrest after Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies arrested the woman who called 911 on drug possession charges.

April Kidd, 40, of Waynesburg, was arrested by Deputy Chase Marcum on Oct. 31 and charged with first-degree possession of crystal methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Marcum said when he arrived at the residence in reference to the burglary call, a man was found standing outside in the yard with his hands in the air.

The man was detained and after further discussion, Marcum said he was told the argument was between the man and the woman who lives at the residence.

“She was upset because Kidd had brought a large quantity of meth into her house,” Marcum said.

The man led deputies into the house and showed them where Kidd had allegedly hidden the meth under a rug.

Marcum said there was about seven grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine found.

“It costs about $100 per gram, so we got $700 of meth off the streets,” he added.

Kidd was lodged in the Lincoln County Regional Jail.
