Richard Elmer “Dick” Hayes, 82, of Crab Orchard, passed away Saturday, September 24, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Richard was born in Crab Orchard, KY on January 14, 1934. He was a son of the late Clarence Elmer and Carrie (Brooks) Hayes. He had previously worked for the Frigidaire Manufacturing in Dayton, Ohio. Richard was a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church. He loved old cars and loved his brothers dearly.
Survivors Include his nephew, Ronald K. Hayes and wife Debra of Bellbrook, Ohio; niece, Paula J. and husband Peter DiSalvo of Bellbrook, Ohio; niece, Rhonda J. and husband Richard Cash of Middletown, Ohio; nephew, Richard Dale Hayes and wife Diane Hayes of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul G. and Calmer C. Hayes.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1 at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Crab Orchard Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the funeral on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie and Dale Hayes, Paula DiSalvo and Rhonda Cash. Honorary pallbearer is Bill Smith.
