Robert “Bob” Hugh Noe, 82, of Stanford, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky.
Born Monday, July 2, 1934, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Stith Thompson and Nancy Katharine McKinney Noe. Bob and his wife, Rose Marie, owned and operated Bob Noe’s Clothing Store in downtown Stanford for 30 years. He was also a co-founder of Lincoln Realty, and an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a member of Stanford Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and elder.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Rose Marie Cotton Noe whom he married November 27, 1953; three daughters, Mrs. David Downey (Roseann), Mrs. Dan Barnett (Jane), and Ms. Sally Conaster all of Stanford; one brother, Walker M. Noe of Stanford; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Betty Ann) Keiser of Danville, Ms. Edna Meis of Tucson, Arizona, and Mrs. John (Nancy) Gower of Danville; five grandchildren, Mrs. Josh Hughes (Jessica), Gentry Barnett, Mrs. Zach Kittinger (Jenny), Rob Conaster, Russ Downey (Sara); and one great-grandson, Cliff Ryan Kittinger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cassie Marie Barnett.
A graveside memorial service was held Saturday, September 17, at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford with Rev. Jay Mumper and Rev. Jim Erwin officiating the service. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Russ Downey, Rob Conaster, David Downey, Dan Barnett, Josh Hughes and Zach Kittinger served as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to Stanford Presbyterian Church, 213 East Main Street, Stanford, Kentucky 40484.
Fox & Friend Funeral Home, Stanford, was entrusted with Bob’s arrangements.
