Celebrate with us Sunday, Sept. 25 our church’s 100th anniversary.  Special day all day!
Edwina Jacobs spoke about God’s faithfulness to her and her family during good and bad times.
Bro. Ron Davis, who was with us last weekend, spoke about  “Commissioning Service for the Church” from John 20 and Matthew 28:16. On Resurrection day, the disciples were fractured and feared for their lives. After all, they had witnessed Jesus’ trial and crucifixion just a couple of days before. The  disciples were locked in the upper room questioning what would be next. Jesus  came into their midst and said, “Peace be unto you!”  
Jesus spent the next 40 days preparing them for His ascension into heaven. They went from cowering, fearful young men into God’s disciples carrying the “Good News” boldly to everyone. With the exception of John, all the disciples  died a martyr’s death.  
Following the service, John and Rebecca Braham joined our church. Welcome!  
Sympathy and prayers to Juanita Denny and family on the death of her aunt  last week.
Madison Cornett placed in talent by singing “I Could Have Danced All Night” and in self expression in the Distinguished Young Woman” at Lincoln County High School Saturday night,  Sept. 10.  Accolades to the Lincoln County program, which placed first in the STATE and third in the NATION in cash offered scholarships. Congratulations to the program and Madison on their achievements!
The 100th year anniversary cookbooks are in and may purchased for $6 in the church office.
Fairview Baptist Church will host the WMU “Mission for Jesus Fall Rally” on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.  The van will leave PVBC at 5:40 p.m.  
Dates to remember: Sept. 24-youth trip; Saturday, Oct. 22-CPR certification class; Friday, Oct. 14-senior adult trip to Cane Ridge Meeting House; Sept. 21-  Senior potluck dinner at PV; Sept. 25 – 100 year celebration; Oct. 19- Senior potluck dinner.
